Funny and Easy Elf on the Shelf Ideas

1) Gushing Gummies

This is an adorable little scene where instead of water coming out of the faucet you can make it look like gummy bears are gushing out! All you need to do is glue the gummy bears to a skewer or shish kebab stick and that's it!

2) Snowman Nose Rejection Center

Here's a hilarious setup for your elf. All you need to do is grate a carrot to halfway then draw a face on the carrot. Then simply assemble the situation as below and print out the sign "Snowman Nose Rejection Center."

The elf doesn't like this snowman's nose.

3) Snowman Surprise

This is a super quick snowman surprise you can make with just a few dots, as long as you don't mind losing a few sheets of toilet roll.

4) Skittles Breakfast

Only magical elves can eat skittles for breakfast and still stay super slim and healthy. This isn't advisable for humans though!

Here's a great game you can play with your kids. Simple place the plastic cups like in the photo below and hide a few treats under some of the cups. Then let your kids guess where the treats are!

7) Ice Fishing

There's nothing like some ice fishing for an ol' friend of Santa! Simply spread some caster sugar on a tray add some little plastic fish and off he goes!

Add some cotton balls to a large bowl and create a winter wonderland jacuzzi for a few ducks and our favorite elf! If they need any refreshments like eggnog make sure its non alcoholic!

9) Shaving Foam Snowmen

Here's a great Christmas wonderland art work you can make with shaving foam - just squirt some snowmen using some shaving foam then add in little dots of snow afterwards. The clean up later might be a pain - but trust me - your children will absolutely love this!

10) Christmas Foosball

Stick some gummy bears on some toothpicks, put them through a mini cardboard box (you can check on youtube how to make them - they're very easy) then get your elf versus a minion or any other toy you can find. You can use lego to make all the heights equal.

This might be a funny elf on the shelf idea for older children. If you had a Liam Neeson doll maybe you could add him to the mix!

12) Rice Krispies in Sneakers

When you run out of bowls for breakfast who you gonna call? Mr Elf....but unfortunately his solution may not be the best idea!

When you can't afford top end technology let the elf sort it out for you. Want an iPad? Or an Eye-Pad?

14) Christmas Make-Up Time

Please warn all your children coming up to the festive season. When you leave an elf near any Barbies then totally random makeovers can happen.

15) Life's a Beach

All you need for this is some blue food dye and some sand and Christmas toys. Your children will love this especially the ones who miss swimming during the summer!

16) Spider Elf

Even Spderman can't believe all the silly tricks an elf can do! Hanging upside down from a ceiling...no problem!

17) Twinkles Clubhouse

This is such a cool place for your Elf to hang out over the Holidays, his own little clubhouse! All you need to do is glue some craft lollipop sticks together and then place it into a really cozy place on your Christmas tree!

18) Giant Elf

Use a couple of rolls of Christmas wrapping paper then place them in a pair of shoes - then place your elf at the top of the wrapping paper.

We all know elves love to play games so grab some markers and draw some red, yellow, blue and green circles onto a page then let the games begin!

20) Elf Go Pee-Pee!

Use some blue food coloring and write a little sign for your elf so he can admit how bold he was to take a pee in your potty!

21) Roasting Frosty

Oh no the Elf is being really bold this time! All you need to do to create the snowman is to put a toothpick through some marshmallows. Then upturn some wine glasses and attach them with twine. To create the fire use a battery powered tealight and some orange candy wrappers.

22) Elf Spa Day

After a long day playing tricks our elves need a little time to chill! So grab some egg cups and fill them with mini marshmallows then sit them in some relaxing mini cardboard boxes.

23) Gon' Fishing!

Grab some mini fish crackers or snacks and fill up a bowl and let your elf while away the hours fishing and whistling his favorite tunes!
